Demi Olin: Co-Organizer/Curation Coordinator
Demi Olin is a first-generation student who studies Criminal Justice and Communication Studies. She holds a deep belief that effective communication has the power to advance research, public service, and advocacy. Demi’s favorite internship involved The Borgen Project, a global non-profit organization dedicated to fighting world hunger. Through her published work, she contributes to advocacy discussions, working to bring aid to underserved communities around the world. She has earned certifications in Ethical & Critical Thinking, Behavioral & Social Science Research, and Responsible Conduct of Research, which have strengthened her research in AI in Policing. Demi furthers her advocacy for change through active involvement in Alpha Phi Sigma (Criminal Justice Honor Society), the Criminal Justice Association, Speech & Debate, the Student Government Association, Pre-Law Club, and now TEDx. Through her dedication, Demi aims to ensure that all voices are HERD.

Brooke Rood: Event Manager/ Sponsorships, Purchasing, and Budgeting Manager
Brooke Rood is a senior Media Production student at Marshall University, pursuing minors in Marketing, Public Relations, and English. She has gained hands-on experience in broadcasting through her work with WMUL, Marshall’s student-run radio station, and by participating in the university’s Dead Podcasters Society. Brooke also served as Vice President of Operations for the Psi Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma, where she helped foster a supportive community of strong and driven women. With her diverse background in media and communications, she is passionate about amplifying voices and increasing visibility for all within the media landscape.

Piper Cook: Communications Director/Social Media Manager
Piper Cook is a sophomore with majors in Mathematics and Statistics and a minor in English. She is from a small town in southern West Virginia named Pineville. On campus, Piper is involved in the Student Government Association as the Secretary of Alumni Engagement, the Honors College, and numerous other clubs. She is always looking for new ways to get involved on campus and in the community, as well as ways to learn something new. Piper is passionate about making connections with people, helping others in any way she can, and trying new things. TEDx allows her to engage with these passions and she is thrilled to be part of the team!

Katie McIntyre: Designer/Ticketing and Promotions Manager
Katie McIntyre is a Professional Writing major with a minor in Public Relations at Marshall University. Originally from Proctorville, Ohio, she is passionate about building strong communication skills and gaining hands-on experience in writing and outreach. Katie currently interns with the WV Grant Resource Center as a grant writer and communication intern, as well as with Campus Collective, a campus ministry at Marshall. She also serves on the MarshallU TEDx team, contributing to design, ticketing, and promotion. Katie is excited to learn, grow, and collaborate alongside a creative and inspiring team.

Gabriella Sevilla: Audio Visual Student Lead
Gabriella is a Senior at Marshall University, majoring in Video Production and minoring in both Psychology and Advertising. Outside of class, she is an active member of Marshall’s Alpha Chi Omega chapter and works for Herd Vision at Marshall University. In her free time, Gabriella enjoys spending time with her sisters, reading, and going on side-quests with her friends. She is so excited to work on TEDxMarshallU this year!
