Change is often defined as the ability to replace something with a new or better version of itself. It is synonymous with transformation, a word that goes a little further—a dramatic change in form. With that in mind, the TEDxMarshallU theme of “stories that change us,” can only be described as one that showcased the ability for one’s story to take hold of someone, give them their form and create something new.  Read more

Hybrid TEDxMarshallU event to be held Feb. 26

Marshall University will host its 4th annual TEDxMarshallU event organized by students, faculty, and staff from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, in the Don Morris Room of the Memorial Student Center. COVID-19 vaccinations are strongly encouraged and wearing masks will be required of all individuals who attend the event. With COVID-19 restrictions limiting the number of in-person attendees, the event will also be livestreamed. Read more

Marshall University will host its third annual TEDxMarshallU event this Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., and this year will have an athletics twist. The theme for this year’s event is “RISING” to honor the 50th anniversary of the Marshall University community beginning to rise from the ashes of the November 1970 plane crash, according to a university release. Among the themes that will be explored are the ideas and initiatives that are helping the community rise in education, economic development and mental health, as well as perseverance through adversity. The event will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, in Jean Carlo Stephenson Auditorium in Huntington City Hall. TEDxMarshallU is a public event, but will require the purchase of tickets.
